There is a medium-sized restaurant and a small parking area near the lake. Both can get very busy during the summer months.

    • By Car: 30 minutes via A3 and the Albis pass. Parking can be found here.

    • By Train: S-Bahn to Affoltern am Albis, then a bus to Türlen.

    Why Visit: A fantastic family spot in Rüschlikon, featuring lush gardens, a large playground, and plenty of open spaces to unwind. The affordable dining options at the Migros restaurant (with a kids’ menu that includes a meal, soft drink, and ice cream for under 8 CHF) make it a favorite for budget-conscious families.

    What to Do: This is our favorite summer spot. The park offers incredible views of the Swiss Alps and features a small water play area for kids (don’t forget to bring a swimsuit or shorts for them). On weekends or during school holidays, children can enjoy donkey rides and train rides for just 1 CHF, as well as a delightful Kasperli theater show, usually held at 3 PM. You can also enjoy free outdoor chairs, perfect for relaxing in the sun. It also features a small indoor playground, perfect for bad weather.

    Getting There:

    By Car: 15 minutes from Zurich. You can park in front of the Migros.

    By Train: Take the S8 or S24 to Rüschlikon, followed by a 15-minute walk uphill (not recommended with Pram), or take bus 165 either from Zurich Bürkliplatz, the Lindt factory (a great stop before or after your visit), or the Rüschlikon train station. Park im Grünen is the final bus stop.

    Random Insight: Einsiedeln is probably the town around Lake Zurich where we spend the most time throughout the year. In summer, we enjoy hikes around Sihlsee, visiting the Abbey, and exploring the Cheese Factory. In winter, we come for sledging with the kids on the hill right next to the Abbey. It’s also famous for cross-country skiing and has a very well-known Christmas market that adds a magical touch to the festive season. I’m not sure why, but we find ourselves coming back here again and again!

    By Train: 50 minutes direct to Einsiedeln. You usually find parking right next to the Abbey on Holzhofstrasse, which offers additional parking spaces during the winter season.
