Getting to the Top: Gondola and Hiking Options

The easiest way to reach Pilatus is from Kriens, a short ride from Lucerne’s train station. You can take the gondola or the cogwheel train, or hike if you prefer to get there the active way.

1. Board the Gondola at Kriens, station stop “Pilatusbahn”. Stay seated at the first stop, Krienseregg, to continue your ride seamlessly. Alternatively, take a pause here to explore all that Pilatus has to offer.

2. Transfer at Fräkmüntegg. Here, at the end stop of the gondola, switch to the aerial cableway known as the "Dragon Ride," which takes you directly to the summit of Pilatus.
